Nurturing Spirit Retreat Samish Island

This year it snowed at the Nurturing Spirit Retreat but our hearts were warm with the community and fellowship we experienced while sharing, and learning new spiritual practices.

Later that day a rainbow appeared.

We are so grateful for all of the new participants this year, as well as our regulars from previous years.

We have exciting news!

In 2018 we will be offering both a Nurturing Spirit Retreat and a guided Silent Retreat.  Stay tuned for details!

Youth Spirit Kitchen at Nurturing Spirit

The Youth Spirit Kitchen participants (left to right) Nathan Christensen, Shelby Bolger, team leader Lana Cullis, Benjamin Christensen, and Hannah Rose.  Each of the youth had the opportunity to create their own bread for our Saturday breakfast, and prepare an element of our Saturday lunch without being given a recipe! only the main ingredient.  The youth worked together to taste each other’s food and offer suggestions.  The meal was fabulous, in fact all of the meals were fabulous.  Thank you Lana and the Youth Spirit Kitchen Team!

News from Victoria

Brandon, our grandson, at 12 years old is almost 6 feet tall. He’s great at rebounds and he shoots well also.  His team from Mill Bay, the only team from our area, took first place in their division against schools in Victoria.

· Class dates: April 1 – May 27:

* The class will be taught in 8-week segments requiring students to complete weekly readings and activities anytime between Saturday and Thursday each week (about an hour and a half per week).

* The week following class conclusion, students will receive a PDF certificate and Temple School Credit in Shelby.

Camp Samish is Recruiting Head Cooks!

Do you love to cook/cater?

Are you creative with menus?

Can you manage a kitchen and crew?

Are you available weekdays and weekends?

Do you love to be at Samish Island?

Community of Christ launched an app for Android and iOS devices. The app is available for download from Google Play and the App Store on iTunes.

The app development was funded through the generous offerings received during the USA National Conference after event expenses were met.
