Travelling Ministry?
Well not exactly. Your Samish Island Board of Directors is looking for temporary housing for our guest ministry. Due to some recent renovations at the East Residence we’ve lost the area that we were using in past years. The Partridge Family Van above was just to get your attention, but we are looking for something that is mobile. Do you or someone you know have an RV or Trailer you’d like to sell (or better yet donate) to the campgrounds? We have a short window before we’ll have to act on something else, so please let us know ASAP. Contact Debra Donohue debra@communityofchrist.ca

Spring Cleaning
Remember that most all of us can help in some way, including the kids. If you think back to when you were a child and helped with Spring Cleaning at camp, its a memory of pride and ownership you will carry with you for life…and a great gift to give YOUR children.
This year over 1,500 people attending over 30 events will come to Samish Island Campground. It’s time to prepare to welcome them! Come help us clean, mow, trim, paint, sweep, weed eat, wipe, spray, nail, pressure wash, edge, repair, tune up, wash and set up! Bring your family and friends and spend a week or a day at Samish! You'll feel great!!

Hills of Peace Camp Opening
New Date
Camp Opening Weekend for Hills of Peace will take place on May 14-15 this year. This is one week earlier than our traditional May long weekend date. We changed it hoping more people could come for a day and a half of cleaning, light maintenance, fun and fellowship. People will be arriving on Friday night, but the work will start Saturday morning after breakfast and continue until mid day on Sunday. Hope to see you there!

Class Descriptions:
MAKE NOIZ- Joey Williams
Hit, tap, slap, snap and stomp… If you can do one of these five things, you’re IN!!! Make NOIZ will be over an hour of intensive cardio as you illumine and excite the percussive neurons of the frontal lobe (yep, I have no idea what I’m talking about, but we’re gonna have fun!). We’ll develop a few creative percussion routines that will be performed at the Sunday service.
Crochet and Beginning Knitting – Nancy Wade Panting
Learn to crochet or knit or learn a new crochet stitch! We will provide 5 mm crochet hooks and 4mm knitting needles or bring your own! Our projects will be: crochet a simple mitt and learn to knit yoga socks. Both projects can be completed over the weekend. Come join in a new way to meditate or just relax and do something useful and fun.
“MMMM TASTY” – Joey Williams
Dipped, drizzled… enjoyed! In this class, we’ll cover the basic necessities of any great get together: Drinks, rice, and chocolate! You may think these don’t go well together, and they probably don’t, but individually, you’ll love each dish! Bring your tongues and fingers because trust me, you’ll be a lickin ‘em (that’s southern talk for “It’s gonna taste good!”).
OPEN UP AND SAY “LA”- Joey Williams
Screeching not allowed… okay, maybe where appropriate. Learn some of today’s best African songs and chants while swaying to the beat and tapping your feet. We’ll sing in unison, 4-part harmony, and maybe even a ten part harmony (does that even exist?)… If you can sing higher than a canary, or howl just a bit better than a hyena, come and join us!
See more class descriptions on our Facebook page.
