BC Men’s Retreat – January 25-27, 2019

Register by:  Monday, January 14, 2019

Registrations are low. 10 attendees are needed for this event to proceed.

Men Talking Women, Gender Non-Binary and Jesus” Apostle Art Smith is looking forward to sharing and having fun with those who attend the BC Men’s Retreat. Together we’ll consider God’s expansive love for all of humanity. We’ll take a look at the distinctive approach Community of Christ takes to the study of scripture. We’ll learn, in particular, about how the gospel lifts up and values those who were not valued much by society at the time. We’ll look at Old Testament and New Testament stories and discover hidden meaning and keys to unlock hidden meaning so that we can be more knowledgeable in our use of the Bible. We’ll look for application of ancient Bible texts to our lives in our day and age.

Canada West Mission is using a private facility for this event and we will be charging a registration fee payable at the event.

Shared room (two people per room) - $145 per person (attendees can indicate preferred roommate)

Private room - $195 per person

Day visitors - $75 per person

E-Conference 2019

Remember to vote in your delegates and alternates for the E-Conference February 3, 2019. 

Although the deadline for delegates and alternates is January 18^th, Steve Thompson will be sending information to the delegates in advance to prepare for the conference.  Please remember that last minute changes to your delegates cannot be made unless you have the fill in person listed as an alternate.

*Mark your calendars for Sunday January 20^th as our eConference test day and polling practice.  All delegates should attend if possible to eliminate any technical glitches on February 2^nd. 

Steve will be sending you more information on the practice day and the agenda items in the near future.

eLearning Classes

Registration for enrollment begins December 7 for these online classes:

• Introduction to Priesthood Ministry (MP300) - Required for new ordinands and those exploring priesthood leadership. Class dates:  Jan. 12 - March 8 (limit 30).
• Ministry of the Deacon (MP 302) - Required for new Deacons and those exploring Deacons ministry. Class dates:  Jan. 12-Feb. 22 (limit 20)
• Pastors in Mission (NEW) - Created to introduce pastors and pastors council to basic congregational leadership. Class dates:  Jan. 12-Feb. 22 (limit 30)

World Conference April 6-13, 2019

If you would like to be a Canada West Mission delegate, you must register with Debra by February 1, 2019. 

We currently have room for ten more delegates and 33 alternates.

2019 World Conference Delegate Registration Fees
to be Reimbursed by Mission Centre!

This is for the information of any member considering being a delegate from the Canada West Centre to the 2019 World Conference, scheduled for April 6 to 13, 2019.

This will be a special conference. Besides the usual business of the church, there will be special celebrations in honour of the 25^th anniversary of the dedication of the Community of Christ Temple in Independence, Missouri.

Delegates, please do NOT register on your own.  Debra will contact you for confirmation of your attendance and register all delegates as a group.

Undertaking the responsibility of being a delegate to World Conference includes a significant financial commitment. Although a small portion of total expenses, the Canada West Mission Centre is pleased to be able to provide this assistance.

Please consider your availability to serve as a World Conference Delegate. Any confirmed member in good standing is eligible. There is no age requirement and no priesthood requirement. Advise Debra Donohue debra@communityofchrist.ca of your interest as soon as possible
