Hills of Peace Family Reunion is almost full.

Male Counsellors needed for Junior Camp at Hills of Peace

Canada West Mission is in great need of male counsellors for Hills of Peace Junior Camp.

 Without enough male counselors, the boys program will be at risk of being cancelled.

If you are able to help us out or know of someone who might be willing, please contact Lisa Neudorf  lisa@communityofchrist.ca . Staff need to be an approved Registered Youth Worker (or eligible to become RYW before camp).

ONLINE TEMPLE SCHOOL PILOT CLASS COMPLETED!

You will recall the announcement a few months ago about a pilot project for an on-line Temple School course. David Lloyd, with whom the Canadian Church has contracted to produce these courses, recently reported that 14 students from across Canada have successfully completed the course and have already received Temple School Certificates for "Introduction to Ministry."

Post-class evaluations gave the overall satisfaction with the class a 4.83 score out of 5. Comments included:

• "Well constructed, informative...loved the links"
• "I liked having the week to fill in the class info."
• "I thought it was great. The facilitator did an excellent job!"

The feedback will be used to improve the delivery of future courses.

Two more courses are ready for delivery starting in August. You will find information elsewhere in the Weekly Wire to register for "Ministry of the Priest" and "Ministry of the Elder" which are open now for registration (limited number of openings - register soon). Also "in the pipeline" is "Introduction to Scripture" which will be available in October. This will be a challenging course to offer due to its high content of video components. Watch for announcements about this course later this year.

Thank you to David Lloyd for his dedication to this project. It will serve the Canadian church very well. We expect to offer the courses to the church in the USA and beyond when all those details have been worked out.

There is no restriction on who can enroll in these courses. All members and friends of Community of Christ are encouraged to take the courses, even if you took them years ago. You will find them significantly updated.

Upcoming Temple School

eLearning Courses

"Ministry of the Priest" and "Ministry of the Elder." 

Canada West mission centre will offer some of the Temple School “Ministry and Priesthood” courses required for ordination. Though live classes are optimal, elearning classes provide learning opportunities without the difficulties of distance and busy schedules. The price of $20 includes the elearning class, instruction, certificate, and a PDF copy of the course book.

Classes begin August 5 and end September 29

* Class fee is $20 per student which includes a PDF copy of the class. Send an etransfer to Steve@communityofchrist.ca or you can pay by cheque, to:

. Payment due before class starts.

* The class will be taught in 8-week segments requiring students to complete weekly readings and activities anytime between Saturday and Thursday each week (about an hour and a half per week).

* The week following class conclusion, students will receive a PDF certificate and Temple School Credit in Shelby.

Community of Christ launched an app for Android and iOS devices. The app is available for download from Google Play and the App Store on iTunes.

The app development was funded through the generous offerings received during the USA National Conference after event expenses were met.
