There have been numerous requests to bring the popular Hills of Peace Men’s Retreat to BC (the rumour is no women are allowed AND all the pie you can eat is served). Victoria Yard Sale!

We raised $300 towards our new sound system, and met lots of people in our community.  Thanks to everyone who donated, sorted books (the book sale was in the basement) and gave their time on Saturday to set up and clean up.

A message from the Hills of Peace Board

1. Caretaker Position at HOP
The Hills of Peace Campground is looking for a caretaker from June to the end of September. Some of the jobs include building maintenance, lawn mowing, being on the grounds during camps / rentals and cleaning the facilities. Applicants can contact Jae Senga (jae.senga@gmail.com or 306-974-4253)

2. Lifeguard Position at HOP (Connor Miles was unable to be the lifeguard again this year, so we are searching for one)The Hills of Peace Campground is looking for a lifeguard from July 3 to July 19. This is during our CWM Youth, Family and Junior camps. We would prefer to have someone on-site for the duration of our camps, but we only require someone for our swimming time (2-5pm daily). 3. Work Camp Thanks
Hills of Peace Work Camp.  Many thanks to Bob Reynard, Ryan & Susan Levitt, Kirk Boote, Keith & Isabelle Williams, Mike & Marlene Mitchell & Brady, Dan & Hayden Woynarski, Greg Goheen, Steve Thompson and Jae Senga for help setting up the Hills of Peace for our camping season. We had great weather and great company as all required jobs were completed. We look forward to seeing you during the camping season. -Hills of Peace Board Members

It is the involvement of everyone which helps our camp to be successful each year and we need your help. Please contact Lisa Neudorf if you are willing to teach or assist with children’s classes, teach crafts for children’s classes, provide toddler supervision during class time, assist with music, worship services or oversee interest classes.

Nurturing Spririt Retreat Hills of Peace

 

We are pleased to invite you to Hills of Peace Nurturing Spirit Retreat 2016. The Nurturing Spirit Retreat is a gift to yourself. It is an opportunity to step back from our busy lives and embrace the opportunity to slow down and truly retreat from the hectic lives we lead.

Theme: “Fully Awake and Truly Alive” We will be referring to the book by Rev. Jane Vennard and learning spiritual practices to nurture our souls.

Dates:  Friday, August 5 – 7:00 pm to Sunday, August 7 – noon.  A “what to bring” list will be provided in advance of the retreat.

How do we pay for camps?

Canada West Mission Centre is continuing to offer camps and retreats at no charge to ensure that registration fees are not barriers to participation. Donations are accepted to help offset the costs of the events. As you consider your donations this year, please keep in mind that the high exchange rate between the US and Canadian dollars will result in higher costs to the Mission Centre to fund camps and retreats. Community of Christ App for Android and IOS

Community of Christ launched an app for Android and iOS devices. The app is available for download from Google Play and the App Store on iTunes.

With the Community of Christ app, you can read daily spiritual devotions, watch inspiring videos, stay in touch with mission happening around the world, and much more.

The app development was funded through the generous offerings received during the USA National Conference after event expenses were met.
