Samish Island Septic in 10 Days!

At 8am September23rd, Coast Construction began working on the installation of the new Dining Hall septic system.  It was raining lightly and the existing sight was quite wet and became muddy rapidly as the work requiring equipment movement over the old drain field.  The 4 fir trees were felled and cut into sections, moved off the site, and the waste limbs, etc. were chipped.  The old tank was demolished, the electrical system decommissioned, gravel hauled, some of the equipment staged on the site for installation, etc. 

 

 

 

Yeah!!  It is done and operating.  Tonight, October 4th, the Young Adults are at the Camp for their retreat and they are happy to be using the Dining Hall for cooking, eating and their activities.  If we had not met the construction schedule they would have had to use the Samish Church for these activities which would have posed some interesting inconveniences for them.
