A note from the CWM Samish Island Reunion Director...
Hello everyone,
Registration is going really well for BC reunion this year, and we are anticipating an excellent week of fellowship and fun at Samish Island in a couple of weeks.
I've attached a copy of the tentative schedule for Reunion 2013 - there are constantly minor changes being made, but the basics are there. If you are only able to come down for bits of camp, this may assist you in deciding when you will make the trip.
There are still a few jobs we are looking to fill. Please have a look through the list and see if you'd be interested in taking any of these on. Please send an email to Chris Phelps (chrisinlangley@gmail.com) if you willing to volunteer.
1. Jobs coordinator - organize the jobs and make sure via follow up that all the jobs are being done and that people remember to be in the right place at the right time.
2. Teacher - Junior (grades 4-6) and Junior High (grades 7-9)
We could also use a couple of volunteers to organize evening worship services, and two evening youth activities.
Please take the time to consider these jobs.
Looking forward to seeing everyone at Samish on July 13.
Chris Phelps

"The Real Man Dialogues: The Quest for the Truth"
We will continue our "real man dialogues" this year as we search for truth - in life and in spirituality. What is the truth? Is my truth different than yours? If you like a good quest and asking the tough questions, then come join us for a week of exploration, a canoe journey, an expedition into the mountains, and many more fun activities.

Materials will guide learners in exploring what it means to be a disciple of Jesus Christ and how discipleship is lived out in Community of Christ. Because this is such important foundational material based on Community of Christ identity, message, mission, and beliefs, the First Presidency recommends use of this resource for fall curriculum with all children ages 7–11, even if they have already been baptized and confirmed. If so, please share the student’s name and contact information with the pastor of the congregation closest to the campus the student will attend. If you are not sure how to contact the pastor, please work with your mission center president. Many congregations would like to provide support to Community of Christ students in their area but don’t always know who is there or how to make contact. Thank you for any help you can provide. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- New books are available from Community of Christ Seminary Press. The Seminary Press publishes scholarly works of particular interest to the serious student. Always in support of the church’s mission and the pursuit of truth, authors explore a wide range of issues. Their writings evidence and encourage creative thinking and inquiry in the tradition of academic freedom, which welcomes public scrutiny. Authors’ methods and conclusions do not necessarily reflect official positions held by the church, the seminary, or any other church-related institution. Note the healthy tension between serious independent inquiry and a determination to faithfully serve the mission of the church. Every book issued by this press will demonstrate that these impulses don’t contradict each other! Community of Christ Seminary Press books are available through Herald House: www.HeraldHouse.org; 1-800-767-8181; (816) 521-3015.
